AKC 2024-05 Premium List    AKC 2024-05 AGILITY ENTRY FORM

Plans Made, Join Us, Dinner With The Judge

We will be having the judge’s dinner on Thurs. May 2 at the Outrigger Canoe Club located at 2909 Kalakaua Ave. at 5:30 pm. Please let me know by 4-15 whether you will be able to attend so that I can amend our reservation for the correct number of people. Typically, guests can park in the parking garage, but spaces could be limited so there are plenty of street parking spaces in the area. Thank you, Renee

MESSAGE from Trial Secretary
Please be very careful filling out your entry form and calculating the correct check amount. We cannot correct any errors or discrepancies for you. If the entry or check is not correct, you will need to turn in a corrected entry or check before the closing date. ~~ CLASS CHANGES: Read the Premium list in regard to Class Changes.
Fix and Go On! (FNG)
As of January 1,2020, Fix and Go On will be offered on a one-year pilot basis in order to give AKC time to evaluate its impact. FNG allows exhibitors to immediately reattempt an obstacle at any time while on course when the dog's performance of an obstacle is not to their expectation. This allows the dog to successfully complete the obstacle then finish the course or leave the ring on a positive note. Using FNG will result in a non-qualifying score. Fix and Go On is not pre-entered, rather it occurs during the course of the run.

Field Time
We will begin unloading the pods and building the course at 7 AM. Please keep all dogs in cars until 8 AM. We ask everyone to team up and pay attention to our dogs and keep barking to a minimum throughout the day so as not to disturb our neighbors. Some running dogs bark from excitement, let's try and make that the only barking dogs.

Jump Height Card
Judge Geoffey Teare, is not a VMO! You will not be able to receive your official Jump Height Card. Make sure you get measured before you pick up your running number from the Show Secretary. Listen for the announcement as to when the measuring will take place (this usually happens after the course has been built). Time permitting; dogs that are not competing may be measured for "fun". Why do this? Some dogs are fearful of the "Wicket" (measuring device). With a little bit of patience, proper rewards, and the guidance of a skilled judge or HAHA instructor, you have a chance to practice being measured for their official Jump Height Card. This "practice measurement" may occur before the show begins or sometime during the day, between classes, it's all based on time permitting. It's suggested that you attend the "official" morning measurement so that you see how it is done and at that time let it be known that you'd like to have a practice measurement when the judge is available.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

All handlers will be assigned a job and are expected to help run the show. If you are not running a dog and would like to come to help with the trial, we’d love to have you. Volunteers are always welcome. If you are new to agility this is great way to join the fun and learn more about the sport! An hour or an entire day or two will make our trial flow so much easier; many hands make light work and oh, so much fun! A call for help will be made about two weeks prior to the event or contact the trial committee chair Cynthia, hseof3dogs@hawaii.rr.com. See you on the field and thanks!
